MAHODAYA is happy to be able to offer this destination, and with it a rare glimpse of one of the planet’s unique natural wonders. Journey to the land that time forgot and seek out the island’s famous namesake. The komodo dragon is the world’s largest species of lizard, and the only living ‘dragon’. The islands of Rinca and Komodo comprise a major part of Komodo National Park. Here you can encounter other exotic wildlife, including civets, deer, macaque monkeys and cockatoos.

Scuba or snorkel the crystal-clear waters around north Komodo, where shallow hard coral reef formations are home to myriad schools of fish. Try your hand at stand-up paddleboarding or kayaking, or enjoy a refreshing dip in the sparkling waters. Allow us to prepare a sumptuous beach setup complete with lounge chairs and oversize umbrellas. Or just relax with a book and a cool drink in the shade as you take in the spectacular scenery all around you.

On board, we’ll seek out manta rays and other pelagics that congregate in currents close to the surface to feed and clean, found in otherwise hard-to-get-to areas. And no journey to Komodo is complete without a trip to neighbouring Padar Island to savour the most iconic view in all of Komodo. Experienced best at sunrise, the half-hour hike to the island’s summit will reward you with truly breathtaking panoramas!
